Most exams are one exam. A few certifications are made up of several exams that together earn one certificate — CompTIA A+ is the example: you sit Core 1 and Core 2.
We sell that certification as one product, at one price. Buying it gives you both cores: two study guides, two question banks, two sets of mocks and flashcards, one purchase.
What that means in practice
One pass, both cores. You do not buy Core 1 and Core 2 separately here, and you do not pay twice.
Your progress is tracked per core, because they are different exams with different blueprints. Each core has its own readiness meter and its own Game Plan.
Mock sittings are counted per core, not shared between them.
The guarantee, and the retake fee
The SurePass Guarantee is per exam, so each core qualifies and claims on its own. If you clear the bars on Core 2 and don't pass Core 2, that is a claim — Core 1 has nothing to do with it.
The retake fee follows the same rule: the testing provider charges per core, so we reimburse per core. That is why the pricing screen names the retake fee with the words "per core" — a single failed core is paid one core's fee, not both.
In a bundle, a certification counts as one member at its own full fee, because a product sold as one thing retakes as one thing. See "Bundles — buying more than one exam".
